Hello And Welcome To The Pohara Boat Club 2022

The club room is equipped with a bar (members & affiliated clubs only), dance floor and a fully appointed kitchen which all overlooks the harbor. 

The club rooms are available to hire out for functions at a very reasonable rate. 

 We average around 200 members in the club, involved with many things including: Learning to sail. Planned cruises. Regular sailing days/evenings. Fishing competitions & Junior Sailing with courses running from level 1 & 2 in our opti's & level 3 onwards in our new O'Pen Bic boats

The Pohara Boat Club 2022 is part of Clubs NZ.

Clubs New Zealand is the leading association for Clubs in New Zealand.  They are a not-for-profit organization and represent more than 300 clubs around the country including chartered clubs, community clubs, cosmopolitan clubs, workingmen's clubs, sports clubs and RSAs.  More than 270,000 people belong to our member clubs.

Port Tarakohe has a comfortable mix of recreational and commercial craft and as such has available marina or pile berth spaces for visitors on a short term basis. There may also be marina berths available on a longer term basis when some of our blue water cruising boats depart on longer trips. 

 For Boat Launching Facilities and Berthage, please ring the Harbor Manager to arrange on 0274463891

Please note that Tasman District Council operate the Barrier arm located next to the Pohara Boat Club. 

All inquiries regarding the barrier arm should be directed to the Harbor Manager.

Fees apply per launch of $10, alternatively you can purchase a ramp card from TDC for $150 or with your membership through the Pohara Boat Club. Membership forms & conditions are located under the Membership tab after our AGM.
