ABOUT

Set in the idyllic playground of Golden Bay, Pōhara Boat Club is located at Port Terakohe. As the only boat club in the bay, we are a diverse organisation with a shared passion for recreational water activities and community. We are volunteer operated and offer sailing, fishing, and social opportunities to all.

Membership runs from July – June each year and comes with perks of access to sailing every Sunday through the season, after school clubs, holiday programming, and Yachting New Zealand’s Learn to Sail courses. We currently have a fleet of optimist dinghies, Open Skiffs, Sunbursts, and an assortment of other small craft.

Through out the year, we host a range of social events, including water safety skills, fishing competitions, quiz nights, Americas Cup viewing, and the Tata Cardboard Boat race. Members have full access to our bar and restaurant, mooring access, yachting New Zealand membership, and affiliation with Clubs NZ.
